Abstract: A forced oscillation system for the measurement of damping derivative due to an aircraft or missile model oscillatory motion in a wind tunnel test section is described. The forced oscillation technique is used for dynamic stability derivatives measurements in the T-38 wind tunnel. Two full-model apparatuses for oscillatory experiments in pitch/yaw and in roll are shown. Oscillatory motion is imparted to the model by hydraulic driving mechanism. Control unit operates directly with hydraulic servo-valve and provides a desired oscillatory motion of the model. Keywords: damping derivative, wind tunnel, oscillatory experiments. |
