dYNAMIC SIMULATION OF AN AUTOMATIC CYCLE FOR A SMALL-CALIBRE GAS-OPERATED WEAPON HAVING A FIXED RECEIVER
Military Technical Institute, Belgrade, radopet49@gmail.com
Abstract: A dynamic simulation of the automatic cycle for a small-calibre gas-operated automatic weapon having a fixed receiver (i.e. one degree of freedom) is presented. The simulation for the 7,62 mm assault rifle with a rotating locking mechanism, similar to the Kalashnikov's one, is based on applying a method of so called equivalent mass and forces, that consists in reducing masses and forces of a multi-member operating mechanism on the driving member, assuming that the total kinetic energy of the system remains unchanged. As a result of simulation, the driving member's kinematic and dynamic parameters for the recoil and counter-recoil phase of the cycle, as well as theoretical rate of fire and total recoil impulse, have been calculated and graphically presented in the paper. Key words: dynamic simulation, gas-operated small-arms, method of equivalent mass and forces, operating mechanism, cyclograph. |
