Abstract: In this paper, the database of infrared images is described and intended to subjective and objective quality assessment. The database is obtained from twenty original images from four available multisensor high quality image databases. The original images are degraded by introducing characteristic degradation for the acquisition and transmission of the signal (blurring, white noise, compression and non-uniformity). For each type of degradation, five different degrees of degradation have been introduced to get images with visually perceptible difference in quality. An initial subjective test was performed for proper selection of degradation degree. The image database was analyzed using objective quality assessment measures. The dependence of the objective values with the degree of degradation of the image is analyzed.
