Abstract: Comparative analysis of the necessary signal power for RCIED activation messages jamming by white Gaussian noise and by sinusoidal frequency sweep is presented in this paper. The comparison criterion is based on the same BER achievement using barrage noise jamming and radio-frequency sweep jamming. Our analysis is focused on MPSK modulated messages for RCIED activation where M is 2, 4, 8 and 16. The specific analytical approach deals with BER values higher than 0.1 which corresponds to the successful jamming effects area, having in mind that several orders of magnitude lower BER values are necessary for reliable RCIED activation message transmission in the same channel. It is found that the necessary jamming signal power is lower in the case when RF frequency sweep jamming is applied. The achieved power savings are higher with the increase of modulation levels number M and may overcome 10dB for M=16. Keywords: RCIED jamming, sweep jamming, barrage jamming, jamming power comparison. |
