Abstract: In this paper, the effect of the liner form on jet formation, tip velocity and its penetration capability is investigated by numerical methods. AUTODYN software is used for numerical simulation of shaped charge. Euler solver of the AUTODYN is used in jet formation and stretching simulations, Lagrange solver is used for penetration problem. For the same charge caliber and length of main charge, several liner forms are investigated. The results show that the liner with trumpet form has higher penetration capability. Distribution of kinetic energy along the liner with curved form is more suitable to get higher cumulative jet efficiency on the target. By optimizing significant parameters as liner apex angle and thickness, technology of production, shaped charge configurations and explosive charge types, could be obtained to enhance warhead penetration capability with same mass and dimensions. Numerical simulations or jet formation are compared with the existing experimental results for liner that has a cone form with constant angle. Here the basic influences of the liner form on jet efficiency without optimization are shown. Keywords: Shaped charge, autodyn, numerical simulation, jet, liner form. |
