Abstract: This paper deals with the implementation of a multibody simulation model of the off-road ground vehicle Land Rover Defender 110 in order to simulate its handling and ride behavior. Laboratory measurements on the vehicle were carried out in order to determine component and subsystem parameters. The required measurements are then used to build the multibody model using the software MSC.ADAMS/Car. The ride and handling dynamics of the obtained 94-degrees of freedom model are assessed for both the vehicle negotiating a discrete speed bump and performing a double lane change manoeuver. The obtained results suggest that model responses are in accordance with the nature of the simulation tests. However, filed measurement should be carried out to correlate the obtained simulation results. Keywords: computer modelling, model validation, field testing, vehicle dynamic, vehicle conversion.
