Abstract: In the present study, 1,4-butanediol was incorporated into a composite propellant binder formulation based on hydroxyl-terminated poly(butadiene). All the testing has been done on propellant binder formulation consisted of hydroxyl-terminated poly(butadiene) as prepolymer and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) also toluene diisocyanate (TDI) as curing agents. The attention was focused on propellant binder network and mechanical properties, influenced by presence of 1,4-butanediol. Network characteristics, such as sol-gel content and crosslink density have been calculated and successfully correlated to mechanical properties of tested propellant binders. Differential scanning calorimetry studies showed that 1,4-butanediol level did not influence the glass transition temperature, however the tensile properties were shown to be a function of the crosslink density. Keywords: composite propellant binder, hydroxyl-terminated poly(butadiene), mechanical properties, crosslink density
