Abstract: The subject of the research is a calculation of the most important technical and technological parameters of the wastewater treatment plant, using active sludge process. Material balance is performed for the capacity of 150 000 population equivalent, as well as calculations of equipment for mechanical and biological treatment of wastewater to achieve the required quality. It also made the sizing of the required elements, which set the basis for the realization of the conceptual design of plants for waste water treatment plant of a specified capacity. Based on the analysis of the obtained results, it can be concluded, that it is possible to achieve the required water quality and that the results contain all the information necessary to perform the preliminary design of the plant.
