Abstract: This paper presents numerical and analytical approach calculations of EFP (Explosively Formed Projectiles) performances. The aim is to show the formation of EFP on the warheads with and without covers in order to represent cover influences on EFP initial velocities. Based on the numerical and analytical results, the discussion regarding forming dynamics, energies, projectile shapes and initial velocities has been provided. The results obtained by the experimental method are compared with numerical and analytical data. Keywords: explosively formed projectiles, numerical simulation, analytical method, explosive propulsion.
