Abstract: The paper presents some problems appearing in the field maintenance process in modern brigade-size military units. Stryker brigade was created as an answer to the new challenges on the modern battlefield, and as a predecessor of future units for Network Centered Warfare. Stryker brigade was projected as a highly mobile and deployable, technologically superior and lethal military force which is agile and ready for high operational tempo. This expectations places specific demands to the supporting elements in the brigade. However, some problems in logistics support, particularly for maintenance function, were realized during operational engagements of Stryker type brigades. One of main problems is optimal allocation of resources across the organizational structure of the brigade. This question seems to be universal and still open in a process of development and equipping of new type of military units, as it is the Stryker brigade. Key words: logistics, maintenance, brigade, modeling, simulation.
