Abstract: The goal of the maintenance optimization process is to select the appropriate maintenance concept for each component within the system. In order to do this, however, it is necessary to take into the account: first, the system availability; second, the Life Cycle Cost (LCC); third, the system reliability; and finally, the risk and safety component. The optimization process begins with the analyses of the current asset’s performance; this includes the maintenance concept and its aspects in whole: the aspects of maintenance and logistic. The complete understanding and visualization, which is a necessary to make the correct decisions, implies from it. The average life-service of the weapon’s system lasts 40 years or more; consequently, it is necessary to develop the systems, which might appreciates (predict) future requirements: foreseen and unforeseen. Key words: army maintenance, measurement, evaluation and control.
