Abstract: Acquiring of energetic self-sufficiency represent a valuable task in time of potential politic, military and economic crisis. Also, energetic self reliance is a significant component of national defense strategy. A promising option for realizing this task seems to be individual biodiesel production. Large consumers of fossil fuel, as agriculture and civil transport activities, could in great part substitute their needs for fossil diesel by biodiesel. Based on available land for biodiesel feedstock cultivation, total quantity of potential biodiesel production in Serbia is estimated to 250.000t/year. Biodiesel production is relatively undemanding regarding technology and necessary equipment and is agreeable for both professionals and individual producers. In this paper we report on our investigation of biodiesel production from different feedstock (rapeseed and soy oil and waste vegetable oil) under conditions widely used among individual biodiesel producers. Quality of obtained biodiesel was analyzed for its compliance with EN14214 Standard. Key words: biodiesel, technology, production, energetic self-sufficiency.
