APPLICATION OF POLYMERBASED SELF-EXTINGUISHING MATERIALS

Some European manufacturers (Bayer, Mobay) have recently replaces all halogenated burning delay agents (bromizated diphenyl oxide, tetrabrombi-sphenol-A) in their products by nonhalogenated additives in order to prevent possible forming of highly toxic bromizated furan and dioxines during the burning of halogenated agents. The most frequently used nonhalogenated burning delay agents are: triphenyl-phospate, esters of phosphate, aluminium trihydrate, magnesium hydroxide, etc. Self-extinguishing materials are applied in electric insulation, noncombustible tubes, self-extinguishing conveyor belts, protective masks, NBC equipment, doors, window glases, etc…
