RELIABILITY – TIME-LIMITED TEST

One parameter of exponential distribution - Mean Time Betwen Failures (MTBF)-has been considered in a time-limited test. The theoretical assumptions for the time-limited test and the failure-limited test have been given. The basic statistic relations for the determination of MTBF point estimation and failure intensity have been derived as well as statistic relations for the determination of upper and lower limits of parameters for a defined confidence coefficient. The effect of the testing set size on the parameter limits has been treated. The operational characteristic curve has been presented as well as an example of testing the computer for electric flight commands.
