During missile field trials, a systematic failure occurred at low temperatures. The failure was manifested by a sudden change of the information signal from the gyroscope in the time interval from 2,5 to 5 seconds after launching, which caused a missile to fall. After extensive research, it was found out that the failure was caused by the overlapping between the microcable excitation frequencies and the frequencies of characteristic oscillations of the gyroscope housing as well as the frequences of gyroscope nutation oscillations.
