DIESEL ENGINE OR GAS TURBINE FOR TANK DRIVE WITH MECHANICAL OR HYDROMECHANICAL TRANS-MISSION

The paper analyzes some basic characteristics of Diesel engines and gas turbines as drive motors for combat tracked vehicles, tanks in particular. The functioning process of the gas turbine is analyzed and the possibilities to improve its basic characteristics are pointed out. The integration of these drive motors with mechanical and hydromechanical transmissions is analyzed as well.
