APPLICATION OF THE FOUR-ELEMENT SQUARE ARRAY OF ANTENNA ELEMENTS IN MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS

The application of antenna arrays in mobile communications has been discussed. A mobile transmission channel, characteristic for urban environment, has been modelled and then used in testing characteristics of an adaptive antenna array. A four-element circular antenna array, in which the LMS algorithm is applied for controlling the antenna characteristic, has been simulated. This array structure can be suitable for the application in cases when the antenna characteristic can be adjusted in all directions as with participants in mobile communications.
