ANALYSIS OF PARAMETERS IMPORTANT FOR THE CHOICE OF TURNING MECHANISMS, I.E. STEERING SYSTEMS IN DESIGN OF HIGH SPEED TRACKED VEHICLES

A racional solution of the steering system was, and still is, one of the most important problems which should be solved in design of transmission systems of combat tracked vehicles. The analysis of power output in turning has pointed out the effects of particular parameters of the steering system on the control it selt as well as on the behaviour of vehicle while turning. General expressions for power components which form the power output in turning have been derived.
